Why Ploi Sits In Our Stack

Ploi is the layer between us and the raw server. Rather than hand-configuring a fresh box every time, and inevitably doing it slightly differently each time, we use Ploi to provision production-ready servers to a repeatable recipe on providers like Vultr, DigitalOcean, or AWS. Nginx, PHP, the database, firewall, and free auto-renewing SSL come up configured and consistent, which removes a whole category of “it works on that server but not this one” problems.

Day to day, the value is in deployment and upkeep. Ploi gives us zero-downtime deploys tied to git, so pushing a release does not drop live traffic, plus first-class handling of the things Laravel apps depend on: queue workers, scheduled tasks, and migrations run as part of the deploy. Daily backups, monitoring, and one-click stack updates mean the operational side keeps ticking without manual babysitting, and a rollback is there if a release misbehaves. That reliability lets us spend our time on the build instead of on server admin.
